Recording....

I posted my first podcast on Thursday, and I think it is a pretty good episode for my first podcast ever. I had to record it two different times because I felt like I was all over the place the first time I recorded it. Although I outlined the structure of my episode, I didn’t want it to sound scripted so I tried to talk naturally. Since it was my first episode, I was a little uncomfortable with the microphone and nervous, so I talked pretty fast. I hope the episode made sense and was not all over the place because my mind was thinking of everything all at once while I was recording. Hopefully, as the year progresses and I become more comfortable with recording, my personality will shine through and podcasting will come more natural to me.

Editing....

Editing was a struggle in the beginning because I am using the app “Audacity” to edit my episodes and uploading them through the app “Anchor”. After I realized I couldn’t figure out how to edit with Audacity on my own, I watched a tutorial, and editing got a lot easier.... shocker. I did not edit the episode too much because I wanted it to sound like a conversation with my listeners. I mostly deleted long pauses, and a few phrases that I messed up on, or thought were not necessary in the episode.

The episode was a summary on who I am and about my passion project. I explain what inspired me to choose body positivity for my project and what the class "DigCit" is all about. Overall, I think the episode turned out pretty well and I’m proud of it, considering it’s my first episode. I hope you all will listen to the episode and enjoy it!
